Our history

At Agki Medical Laboratory, we are committed to providing the best care in a caring and attentive environment. Through our many years of experience, our laboratory has earned a reputation as one of the finest healthcare facilities in the region.

Agki Medical Laboratory has been launched in 2019. Our lab is a social business, that aims to address the issue of Anemia, which concerns 57% of pregnant women and 58% of children that are under five of age in Tanzania, and is responsible of 14.1% of the maternal death.

To solve this health problem, we at Agki Medical Laboratory do door-to-door visits in rural area to provide hemoglobin tests, folic acid (the drug used against Anemia) and free health education. Those door-to-door visits are conducted thanks to solar-powered motorcycles. For now, we are able to do on average 400 hemoglobin tests and to provide around 660 doses of folic acid per month, and to cover 10 villages with our services. In addition, we have a laboratory in the countryside of Kongowe Kibaha and a laboratory in the countryside of Dar Es Salaam, in which people can directly come to have access to hemoglobin tests, folic acid and health education.
